Hello Houston and the rest of the world!
My
name is Jennifer M. and I am an Uber driver.
I’m also a college grad, mom to three kids, database analyst at a large
corporation, doggie foster mom, and a blogger.
I also have driven other platforms, including GetMe, Lyft, etc., but
Uber is my main ride-share gig. Hence, this
blog is about the ever changing world of Uber and the people in it.
When Uber first started in Houston, the class of and quality
of drivers and cars were much more stellar.
Today, the market has become supersaturated with the May 29, 2017
Governor Abbott signing a bill that has forever changed the rules of Ride-share in the state of Texas. In addition, with
Uber’s recent announcement of allowing vehicles as far back as from 2002 onto
the platform, you no longer know what you’re getting in terms of driver and car
quality. With de-regulation, anything goes!
As I write, I will begin to introduce you to a population of
Uber drivers that are people like you and me.
As I’ve been a driver for over two years, I’ve gotten to know a rather
large number of my fellow ride-share drivers.
This includes the good, the bad, and the “fugly”. More on that topic later......
If you're a new driver, please look into joining the Houston Uber Groups on Facebook.
